The Tingler is a Vincent Price movie which I noticed on SKY the other day but having missed the first ten minutes I decided to wait for another screening which happens to be on the 16th (SKY Horror/Scifi) at 17:35 and again on the 20th at 2pm.

Vincent Price is the doctor searching for the root of fear in humans. He isolates an organism within the body which he dubs 'the tingler', but his unfaithful wife turns it on him and the elusive little beast then causes havoc in a crowded cinema.

Seems a worthwhile watch after watching The Last Man on Earth recently discussed on the podcast by Vince and Aaron.

"A scream at the right time might save your life"

You don't get opening scenes like that anymoreSmile
Just as in "The Last Man on Earth" it's Vincent Price
that sets the scene with his voice as he explains the
basic premise of the story and as always his presence
in a simple room opposite one actor is impressive.

Blimey his missus is a bit if a tart and and simply not
a nice woman at all!

"You two met? In the same alley perhaps"

The bathroom scene was very well done and the theatre
was even better right down to scenes directed right
at the real audience.
Tingler was an enjoyable movie, ideal for it's time but of course very dated now but it has some good ideas and well if you watch SG1 then one aspect is very recognisable but with less wiresSmile

Yes this is one of my favorites. The William Castle gimmick in this one was
Percepto! When the theater got the film they also got motors and vibrators that went under the movie seats and when the Tingler got loose in the movie and the film went dark the seats would vibrate and scare the hell out of the viewers. Very cool.

i haven't try it yet. . .
